Shorz vs Poolday

Poolday is an enterprise video agent for UA and marketing teams, sold on plans from $1,250 a month. Shorz is a Windows and Mac app on prepaid credits that builds and publishes the same ad formats. A researched comparison of pricing, workflow, integrations and where each one wins.

Poolday calls itself "the media superintelligence": an AI agent that edits, generates and assembles on-brand video for marketing and user-acquisition teams, and it is sold the way enterprise software is sold — a 15-minute demo call, then a monthly plan. Shorz makes the same kinds of ad creatives — hook variants, UGC-style presenters, dubs, resizes, cut-downs — but as a desktop app you download today and pay for by the render.

That's the whole comparison: who buys it, and how. Everything below is the detail behind it.

Poolday details were checked on poolday.ai in September 2026. Poolday publishes its plan prices openly; per-credit rates and the exact credit cost of a given video are not on the public site, so those are described as Poolday describes them.

The one-line version

  • Poolday is a cloud video agent for teams: one prompt produces net-new ads, cut-downs, hooks, UGC, localizations and resizes, wired into 115 tools and priced from $1,250 a month after an onboarding call.
  • Shorz is a desktop AI production suite: describe the edit in plain English, or start from a script, a photo or one long video, render on your own GPU, and publish to eight platforms — on prepaid credits from €19.90 that never expire.

What Poolday is genuinely excellent at

  • Volume from one prompt. Its apps-and-games page shows one gameplay clip becoming six ad hooks, one creative becoming 94 localized store assets, and one prompt becoming five ad sizes including 4:5 and banners. That is the right product for a UA team that ships fifty variants a week.
  • Integrations. 115 connectors — Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, AppLovin, Asana, Slack, Notion, Figma, Drive and the rest — plus the ability to connect any custom MCP server. A new Asana task or a Drive upload can wake the agent.
  • Scheduled, triggered batches. Put the variant prompt on a schedule and the Monday batch is cut before anyone logs in. Weather triggers and news stories can start a job.
  • White-glove onboarding. Poolday's team sets the agent up with your winning ads, gameplay capture, brand rules and network specs. Your first videos already look like yours.
  • Team features. Enterprise adds unlimited users, SSO, MSA and redlines, a private Slack channel, invoicing, API access and model controls.

If you have a media budget that makes $1,250 a month a rounding error and a team that needs one shared agent, Poolday is built for you.

Where Poolday costs you

1. The price of admission. Business is $1,250 a month (the first month at $500), which includes $1,250 of credits; extra credits cost 2× the included rate. Enterprise starts at $2,500 a month. There is no self-serve tier and no free trial on the public site — you book a demo first. For a solo developer, an indie studio or a two-person growth team, that is the whole tool budget.

2. Sales-led. You cannot download Poolday and try it on this afternoon's gameplay capture. The first step is a calendar link.

3. Subscription, not usage. You pay every month whether you shipped a hundred creatives or none. Unused included credits are a monthly allowance, not a balance you keep.

4. Cloud-only. Your captures, brand kit and renders live on Poolday's infrastructure. That is fine for most teams and a blocker for some.

5. Ads, not channels. Poolday's examples are paid creative. Organic publishing and scheduling to your own YouTube, TikTok or Instagram accounts is not what it is selling.

What Shorz does differently

Shorz's premise: the same ad formats should be one download away, priced per render, with the video posted rather than exported.

  • Six entry points. Auto Edit (drop in gameplay and describe the cut), Clipping (one stream becomes up to 8 highlights), Avatar (one photo and a script become a lip-synced presenter), Advertisement (product or presenter stills become a 10–40 second spot with Gemini Omni Flash), Script to Video, Podcast.
  • Hook variants from one capture. Each opener is a separate brief on the same footage. Over MCP, an agent queues all six from one message.
  • UGC without a creator. Avatar for the talking head, Auto Edit to cut gameplay in as B-roll, five B-roll modes, an end card. Full commercial rights.
  • Localization. One toggle dubs a finished video into 108 languages and regional dialects with ElevenLabs.
  • Every ratio the networks take. 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, with face tracking that keeps subjects centred when reframing.
  • It publishes. Render once, then publish or schedule to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Pinterest, up to 30 days ahead — and see each post's engagement back in the app.
  • No subscription and no watermark, ever. Prepaid credits: 1 credit = €0.01, packs at €19.90 / €99.90 / €199.90, credits never expire, optional auto top-up. Auto Edit and Clipping include 4 free videos a week — sign in with your email, no card.
  • Local by design. Projects and generated assets live on your machine, and the final render is GPU-accelerated locally rather than queued in the cloud.
  • Agent-drivable. An MCP server with 181 tools lets Claude, Cursor, Codex or Gemini run whole Shorz workflows from plain English — the same delegation story as Poolday's agent, pointed at software you own.

Which one fits your work

Choose Poolday if you run UA for a portfolio of apps or games with a real media budget, you want one shared agent wired into Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, AppLovin, Asana and Slack, you need 4:5 and banner sizes, and you want a vendor to onboard the brand rules for you.

Choose Shorz if you are a developer, an indie studio, a solo growth marketer or a small agency: you want to test hooks this afternoon on this week's capture, you don't want a subscription running between launches, you'd rather render on your own machine, and you want the organic versions posted, not just exported.

Both is legitimate. A studio can run its paid pipeline on Poolday and let Shorz handle the organic clips, dubs and one-off spots the agent plan doesn't cover.

Honest limits on the Shorz side

  • Windows and Apple Silicon Macs only — no Linux, Chromebook or Intel Mac build. Poolday runs in any browser.
  • No 4:5 or banner output. Shorz renders 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9. If your network mix leans on 4:5, that's a manual resize step.
  • No built-in scheduler for creation. Shorz schedules publishing up to 30 days ahead; recurring creation batches run through your own agent (Claude scheduled tasks and the like), not inside Shorz.
  • No ad-network uploads. Shorz exports files you upload to Ads Manager yourself. Poolday integrates with Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and AppLovin directly.
  • Single user. No seats, SSO or shared workspace.
  • Dubbing is the priciest minute in the app (286 credits per minute), so localizing every variant adds up; most teams dub the winner.

Verdict

Poolday is the better agency replacement: a shared, integrated, onboarded agent for teams whose media spend justifies four figures a month. Shorz is the better tool: the same ad formats, on your PC, per render, no call required. If your problem is "our UA team needs a creative engine wired into the stack," book the Poolday demo. If your problem is "I need six hooks from this capture by tonight," download Shorz: AI video ads for apps and games
