Automatic B-roll

AI B-roll that appearson the right word

Shorz reads the transcript and drops in supporting visuals where they belong — your own footage, web images, GIFs, emojis, or shots it generates on the spot. Five independent sources, one pass.

How to use the ai b-roll generator in three steps

B-roll is what separates a recording from a video, and it's pure manual labour: listen, pause, search, download, drag, trim, repeat. Shorz already has the transcript, so it knows where a cutaway belongs and what it should show. Four of the five sources cost nothing at all.

Five B-roll source tabs — assets, web, GIF, AI and emoji — in the Shorz panel
1

Pick your sources

Your own imported B-roll, auto-pulled web images, GIFs (sticker or standard), AI-generated visuals, and timed emoji overlays. Turn on any combination — they run independently.

2

Set how much you want

Web images 1–30, GIFs 1–20, emojis 1–20 — a light touch for a corporate explainer, wall-to-wall for a TikTok edit. AI B-roll works out its own clip lengths from the speech timing.

Density you control

3

Choose how they enter and leave

Each B-roll type has its own in and out transition pools, and the exit plays the effect reversed — a "slide in left" leaves to the left. Add appearance sounds and it starts to feel edited.

Why AI B-Roll Generator in Shorz

Talking-head video with floating B-roll thumbnails connected to the main frame

Generated B-roll, not stock B-roll

The AI source makes the visual instead of finding one: stills for cheap, wide coverage, or generated video clips when a shot has to move. Shorz works out the clip length from the speech, so nothing hangs on screen too long.

Image or video mode

Layered video frames suggesting motion and transitions between clips

Most of it costs nothing

Only the AI tab spends credits. Your own assets, web images, GIFs and emojis all work in full on a free Auto Edit or Clipping run — which means automatic B-roll is something you can use every day, not a premium extra.

Shorz speaks MCP

Shorz isn't a locked web app. Connect it to Claude, Cursor, Codex or Gemini and your assistant can drive it directly — one message instead of a panel full of clicks. You review before anything is published.

AI B-Roll Generator questions

Five independent sources: B-roll you imported yourself, web images pulled automatically, GIFs (sticker or standard), AI-generated stills or video clips, and timed emoji overlays. You can run any combination at once.

From the transcript. Shorz knows what's being said and when, so the visual appears while the topic is being discussed rather than at a fixed interval.

Only the AI tab — both its image and video modes. Your own assets, web images, GIFs and emojis are free for everyone, including on free Auto Edit and Clipping runs.

AI B-roll works its own length out from the speech timing, so cutaways match the sentence they belong to. For everything else you control the density — how many inserts across the video.

Relative to images, yes — AI video costs roughly ten to thirty times more per placement than an AI still. For long videos, image mode is usually the sensible default, with video mode saved for hero moments.
