Open ElevenAPI from the navigation
- Click the button above "Start here 👉 Get ElevenLabs API key" to open the ElevenLabs.
- In the top navigation bar, click ElevenAPI.
How to: Setup ElevenLabs API key
Optional — only needed for your own custom or cloned voices.
Shorz runs on your account credits — sign in, buy a pack, and video, narration, dubbing, music, and sound effects all work without any API key.
Add an ElevenLabs key only if you want to pick custom or cloned voices from your own ElevenLabs account in Text-to-Video, Avatar, and Podcast projects. Follow these steps, then paste the key in Shorz under API Keys.
Get your ElevenLabs API key
- On the ElevenAPI page, click "Get API key" to sign up or log in.
Open API Keys and create a key
- In the left sidebar (at the bottom), open Developers → API Keys.
- Click "+ Create Key".
Create the key
- Give the key a name (e.g. Shorz).
- Leave "Restrict Key" OFF so Shorz can use your custom and cloned voices.
- Click "Create Key".
Copy your ElevenLabs API key
- In the modal, click "Copy to Clipboard" — the key won't be shown again.
- In Shorz, open API Keys and paste it into the ElevenLabs field.
- This key is optional. Shorz works without it — you only need it to select voices from your ElevenLabs account in Text-to-Video, Avatar, and Podcast projects.
Upgrade your plan (required for Shorz)
- The free ElevenLabs plan won't work with Shorz — you need a paid plan.
- Go to Subscription and click "Upgrade" to switch to Starter or Creator.
- Starter plan ($5/month) is the minimum plan suitable for Shorz.
- Creator unlocks voice cloning — use those cloned voices in Text-to-Video, Avatar, and Podcast projects in Shorz.
